Dear residents of Lourmarin,
After several months of reflection on my candidacy for the upcoming municipal elections, my decision is simple: I have the desire and the will to unite the residents of Lourmarin, to dedicate my energy to the service of the village, and to build this beautiful project together:
the Lourmarin of tomorrow.
As Albert Camus wrote: “True generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present.”
My experience as a parliamentary assistant has allowed me to understand the mechanisms and constraints of local authorities.
My entrepreneurial journey taught me to do a lot with little, to find solutions, to innovate, and to move forward despite difficulties.
My personal history taught me resilience in the face of challenges.
I deeply believe that difficulties should not divide us but rather unite us around common sense and solidarity.
I have no scores to settle through this candidacy. On the contrary, I feel at peace.
Every encounter, every experience, helps us grow, and perhaps that is one of life’s beauties.
I have had the chance to live in several cities, in France and abroad, for my studies and projects, but it is here, in Lourmarin, that I truly feel at home.
I grew up here, I learned the value of mutual aid, the simplicity of human connection, and the pride of seeing a true village in the countryside taking shape at the foot of the Luberon.
Today, I see that our village is experiencing tensions. The national and global context does not help.
However, I deeply believe that we can rediscover a serene, vibrant, and forward-looking Lourmarin.
With a working group composed of committed residents, long-time Lourmarin residents, those who hold Lourmarin dear, as well as those who work there and keep the village alive daily, we have begun to build a common and creative vision for the future of Lourmarin.
A vision that combines respect for our identity and traditions with innovative solutions to meet the challenges of our daily lives and of tomorrow.
Preserving our heritage does not mean refusing change. It means knowing how to invent it together, with common sense, imagination, and solidarity.
Our objective is simple: to preserve what constitutes the soul of Lourmarin, its authenticity, its beauty, and to help it find its balance, by supporting local and associative initiatives and by providing concrete and creative solutions so that one can live there serenely and work there all year round.
We wish for a united and sustainable Lourmarin, a village where development, economy, education, security, culture, humanity, and nature find their full place.
This is a collective project that I wish to build with YOU.
Impossible is not Lourmarinois!
Olivier
